Mitel 3300 AX Controller
The AX gateway delivers a high density analogue solution which can be deployed anywhere across the IP infrastructure as part of a network of Mitel 3300 ICP gateways. The AX gateway enables those customers to position the AX Controller locally to deliver analogue services while also having access – through IP Networking – into the overall solution.
In addition to supporting higher densities of analog devices, the AX gateway supports IP and SIP devices just as do other hardware platforms. The AX gateway will support a maximum of 250 devices (with a maximum of 192 analogue phones and 100 IP devices) and offers all the same software features and functions as other Mitel 3300 ICP Controllers. In addition, the AX gateway will support an optional redundant power supply.
Trunk and Station Modules Support
The AX supports two card / module types for analogue trunks and stations. The two-card variants that are supported are a 16-extension or ONS (On-Premise Station) card slot and a four-trunk plus 12-extension or ONS card. Any card can fit into any slot and the cards can be inserted while the unit is operational.
In addition to supporting LS trunks, the AX supports the T1/E1 Combo card / module. This module has has a single E1/T1 trunk interface (link). The module provides PRI / QSIG / T1-D4 / DASS II / DPNSS / IDA-P protocol through the AX controller. It will also support resiliency, i.e. if there is failure of the card, the link can be switched to a secondary controller.
